Happy 13th Birthday Elijah!!
We started this morning off with french toast and then Elijah opened his Birthday presents. His big time gift was a gun given to him by Daddy, Mommy and Pawpaw and Mammaw in Texas. It not only was his Birthday present but also his Christmas gift. He was speechless when he opened the case!!! This is a gun he has wanted for quite a while and will be a gift he will have into his adulthood. He also receive Birthday cash, a Star Wars figure from Joseph, hatchet from Morgan and a hand-made ornament from Mary.
The men and boys went to the hunting camp and shot guns this morning and then we all went to our church’s Christmas concert at 1:00 p.m. For lunch we went to Texas Road House for a big late lunch so that we could have a light snack in place of dinner tonight. Again Elijah enjoyed the splendor of the attention he got from all the waiters and his very own bowl of ice cream too!!
Morgan, Jordan and Mary also enjoyed their time in the saddle.
After dinner I couldn’t help but set up a quick photo shoot while I had the whole gang all dressed up!!
Out of all the shots these last two were probably the easiest and most natural!
Thursday Dec. 23 – Grammy and Pawpaw surprised us for breakfast by arriving at our home at 8:15 a.m. Surprise!!! Mommy isn’t home to cook breakfast she’s swamped at work cleaning a gazillion kiddie teeth!! I worked all day, Grammy did loads of our laundry and babysat while Pawpaw and Trey and some boys ran errands. After working a jam-packed day having stayed up the night before cleaning house and then going grocery shopping at 11:30 p.m and falling in the bed at 1:00a.m, Pawpaw treated the family to dinner at Macaroni Grill!!! Yea me!!!
We had a wonderful time at dinner. Elijah was so surprised by the Birthday cake and his brothers and sister really enjoyed getting to taste it too! What a great way to start off a Merry Christmas time together with Grammy and Pawpaw!!
This morning I thought I’d finish up on a long drawn out project we have going on here at the house and do a little painting. I don’t have much more painting to do just some trim and doing some touch up spots but none-the-less it is painting I can only do when kids aren’t around. So I get up and enjoy some coffee along with Good Morning America and then slip on some paint cloths and mentally check off the items I need, now where did I leave them? Oh yeah, on the back porch that’s where they are!
And so back inside I went slipped into my warm pajamas, poured another cup of coffee and finished watching GMA. There’s always tomorrow!
Elijah is such a kind big brother that he always checks on the little kids before he goes to bed. Tonight was no different than any other, as he pulled back Jordan’s blanket to make sure he could breathe he was startled by Jordan’s position. He came bounding down the stairs for my camera (I have trained him well) and captured the sweet way Jordan was sound asleep.
On his way back upstairs Elijah ran into this fella (Joseph) sleeping on the
May God give you sweet dreams tonight and may you awaken without a sore neck in the morning!
The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Wishing you a Christmas Blessing from our family to yours!
Trey, Stephanie, Elijah, Morgan, Joseph, Mary and Jordan
Mary and Jordan have been working on their Christmas songs for quite a while and were thrilled to finally be on stage. I had a major scare yesterday when a friend talked about going to her daughters program the night before and panic hit me, “Oh no we missed it!!!” I would surely find out when I got home from work and had two bawling kindergarteners waiting on me. Thankfully we did not miss it!!! They both did so well. I have never seen Mary more focussed and excited about something. She really shined as she belted out the songs! Jordan’s eyes were so big as he sang and did all the hand motions perfectly. He really got into it, just too cute!!
Good luck picking Jordan and Mary out of the sea of red. Sort of like Where’s Waldo!!! They are on the left side front row and 2nd on second row.
Joseph was literally climbing the walls! He could have sung with another 2nd grade class tonight but wanted to sing only with his class on Thursday night. Daddy was out-of-town and didn’t get to see Mary and Jordan so they will join another class and sing again on Thursday when Joseph sings. They are ecstatic to be able to do it again!! Daddy is so glad to get to see them all perform.
